I've looked at the Karaoke-version website, and from what I can see, you would need to download the tracks to your computer first. Then add the MP3 files to your iTunes Library, create a playlist, and sync the playlist to your iPad.
My personal workflow is to download the file, rename it to 'KAR - song title' and import it to my iTunes Library. It's easy to search for the 'KAR' songs and combine them into a playlist that way.
Then, when I've worked on the song, possibly changed the key, etc. and I'm ready to perform it, I change the 'KAR' to 'BT' (for backing tracks). You guessed it - I have a separate playlist of backing tracks, ready to perform.
I'll include some resources below for adding files to your iTunes Library and syncing with your iPad. Now the tracks will be available for you to use in GarageBand for iOS, (if the licensing information for the website permits it.).
